奧茲奧斯朋1979年離開黑色安息日之後，非但沒有一蹶不振，反而大張旗鼓徵募搖滾精英，共同打造一張真正屬於他的專輯。這些好手包括Quiet Riot的吉他手Randy Rhoads， Rainbow 的貝斯手Bob Daisley，以及Uriah Heep鼓手Lee Kerslake，皆是當時重搖滾界的一時之選，尤其Randy Rhoads深具古典音樂背景的吉他技法，讓「奧茲風暴Blizzard Of Ozz」更具旋律性，即使單曲在排行榜上並無突出表現，但還是大賣4百萬張，成為80年代百大暢銷專輯之一。發行於1981年「奧茲風暴Blizzard Of Ozz」專輯原始曲目共9首歌，包括已經是練團名曲”Crazy Train”、” Mr Crowley”、金屬慢歌經典” Goodbye To Romance”，以及爭議歌曲” Suicide Solution”全部出自於此。無論是快歌電吉他Riff模式，或者電吉他獨奏旋律，都可看出後來重金屬樂的影響。2011版除了母帶重新修復外，還加收3首額外曲目，其中” Goodbye To Romance”將電吉他與主唱音色再Mix之後更能感受重金屬慢歌獨特的旋律性。還有首次發行名為”RR”的1分13秒吉他手Randy Rhoads的錄音拾遺，感受這位天才吉他手隨手揮灑的搖滾音符，俏皮幽默的收尾，讓人不禁莞爾。
